Shinrin-Yoku, translated into English as ‘forest bathing’, means taking in the forest atmosphere during a leisurely walk. It is a therapy that was developed in Japan during the 1980s, becoming a cornerstone of preventive health care and healing in Japanese medicine. Researchers, primarily in Japan and South Korea, have conducted studies on the health benefits of spending time amongst the trees. Now, the research conducted helping to establish Shinrin-Yoku and forest therapy throughout the world.

Be in the moment:
Do not look at your phone, focus on your steps, take your steps consciously and remember that the main goal is walking. If you want to make benefit of being in the nature, you have to leave all technological devices that connect you to the outer world behind, and feel nature with your five senses.
Start by seeing first. See what’s under your feet, and then lift your head up to see the trees, the animals above them, the mighty branches.
FEEL YOUR FIVE SENSES:
Start your journey seeing what is around you. See what’s under your feet and then look up the sky and see the trees, spicies on trees and sturdy branches.
Then listen the leaves, birds, running water. Cock an ear at nature.
Feel the soil. Feel firmness of the tree roots under your feet, the softness of the leaves.
Breath in the fresh air and smell aromatic essences of nature. Come closer, smell the leaves and flowers.
Taste the leaves.
